"Have Ebola Split Up?"

Yes

"Will you give us an unreleased track for our benefit compilation tape?"

Write to us and if we support the cause then we'll happily let you use something of one of our singles. If You don't write and ask first, then we'll come to your country and kick your ass (in non nationalistic and anti-imperialist way). We are not interested in being on any compilation tapes that are not benefit tapes so please do not use any of our stuff.

"I'm doing a compilation 7"/LP/CD etc. and I'd like you to be on it?"

We are not really interested in being on any more compilation's as we don't have spare tracks , we'd rather people gave exposure to bands that need it instead. Doing It Yourself does not mean sending emails to your favourite (already 'famous') bands to put out yet an another below average compilation which means nothing, says nothing, and supports nothing. "When you think of all the more useful things you can do with a piece of plastic..."

"I do a radio show / fanzine / interactive web site can you send me some some stuff?"

Ebola are a totally DIY band and as such don't have any money to send out loads of promo copies of our records.

"So will you do another tour or another record"

No more tours... we split up remember ... but our final recordings will come out eventually....

"Hi my name is Phlegmy and I live in Dorksville Oklahoma. I'm organising a festival and have asked all my favourite bands (Spazz, Minor Threat, Britney Spears etc.) to play. I wonder if you guys would like to play as well. We should be able to give you some money for gas..."

We live in the UK. This is not actually part of the United States (yet!). If you wish to pay our return air fairs we will be more than happy to re-form and come and play at your moms wedding.

"If I send you a form letter, chain letter, unsolicited records and tapes, or crappy spam will you write back?"

If you're lucky you'll get a standard response and nothing more. If you can't be bothered why should we be?

"Hi I live in a less affluent country than you and I can not afford to buy records/tapes/download your songs from the internet... can you please send me a T-shirt/LP/7"/CD/Cassette etc etc"

Look we were a DIY band (not for profit) and we did not make any money from the band at all... in fact we lost thousands of pounds over the years. Our records were released by our friends and we made no money from this process. We simply can not send you things for free. Sorry.

"I sent you a letter six months ago and you never wrote back to me"

Look I haven't even got time to keep in touch with my friends. Mail gets answered when and if we have the time. Emails are pretty much the same. Sorry but that's the way it is.

"Will you write some stuff for my zine?"

As you might have guessed from reading this far time is one thing we do not have plenty of. The band, our jobs and more importantly our lives don't permit us the luxury of writing scene reports and doing columns on a regular basis. If you send us a nice enough letter or email you might be able to twist our arms, but it's so much easier for us to do interviews...

"Okay will you do an interview for my zine then?"

Sure, no problem. We'd prefer it if didn't ask us loads of questions about the history of the band and shit like that seeing as most of that information is freely available elsewhere on this web site. That way we can concentrate on doing full justice to the questions you ask us. If you want some good ideas have a look at the interviews we've already done. Filip's is a good example of a well thought out interview, though if you ask us the same questions as he did you'll probably get the same answers!

"How long will it take you to respond?"

That really depends. E-mail interviews are the easiest for us as all but one of Ebola is "on line", but we are quite happy to respond to more traditional forms of mail! Please give us plenty of time to respond no matter what format you use to send your questions.

"Can I put I put your songs on a file sharing system such as Music City?"

At Present while Music Cityis not charging for access to it's service we don't mind our songs appearing on it, or something similar. However when and if this situation changes we would strongly object to the commercial music industry making profit from our endeavours, so the answer will then be NO! Similarly we do not wish our music to be used for any commercial gain whether by file sharing, download sites or MP3 compilations. Most of of our music is available very cheaply from a variety of sources and we don't see why other people should make money from our endeavours when we do not.
