I just discovered that Kazaa the peer to peer (P2P) file sharing utility I have been pushing to people is in fact riddled with Spyware. I found 68 Separate bits of Spyware which had come "free" with the Kazaa instalation.

Personally my response was to follow the instructions somebody was kind enough to post in one of the Kazaa forums which I have reporduced here... then download Morpheus which is a spyware free version of the same program from Music City.

I had toyed with the idea of downloading an earlier spyware free version of Kazaa from http://cytech.webhop.net/ which also has some interesting thoughts and usefull tips on the matter but in the end decided to make a clean break and clean it off my computer.

I had a lot of partially completed downloads which I didn't want to loose so I just coppied the Kazaa dat files from the folder where I had chosen to download them into the folder I had chosen for Morpheus ... and when I resatrted Morpheus they continued to download as normal there.

Regrdless of whether you have installed Kazaa on your computer or not you may well have spyware on your machine. I'd strongly suggest you check out these sites if you want to improve your security and put the boot into spyware at the same time:
